Connecting to/from your network over a secure API can be done one of two ways.

1. Connecting over the public internet with an SSL encrypted payload, restricted by firewall rules to receive only from your network and authenticated through an App Token.

2. Connecting over a secure VPN tunnel configured to your network, again with SSL encrypted payload, and App Token authentication. This connection is more complicated and requires changes within your network.
